September at Margaret Hall was filled with creativity, compassion, and collaboration. From a beautiful art show supporting an important cause to the return of a beloved partnership with Summit Country Day School, our residents experienced the joy of connection and community throughout the month.
Our residents proudly joined fellow artists from Lakeridge, Garden Park, The Meadows, Montgomery, and Margaret Hall to host a special Art Show Fundraiser supporting the Alzheimer’s Walk on October 4th.
Every painting told a story of joy, hope, and the creative spirit that thrives in our communities. We were honored to partner with Constellation Hospice and The Summit Country Day School, whose talented students generously donated artwork to the show. Together, we raised nearly $500 to support the cause, proving once again that when communities unite for a purpose, great things happen.
Our collaboration with The Summit Country Day School continues to be one of the most meaningful parts of life at Margaret Hall. After a brief pause during COVID, the program returned last year through an elective Service Course led by Ms. Huff, allowing students to engage directly with our residents.
With the guidance of Activities Director Rona Johnson and her dedicated team, Hilda, Autumn, and Dorothy, students visit regularly to connect with residents, create life stories, organize seasonal activities, and even make handmade blankets, as seen in this month’s photos.
This intergenerational program not only brings joy and laughter but also provides students with valuable insight into careers in healthcare and the importance of compassion in action. We are deeply grateful for their time, creativity, and kindness.
